The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Monday introduced the latest edition of its compact sedan Dzire (all-new Dzire). The new Dzire has been launched at a price between Rs 6.79 lakh and Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). According to PTI news, the company has said that it will continue to meet the needs of all customer segments to maintain its top market share in the domestic market.
About 30 lakh units sold
According to the news, while introducing the new Dzire, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) MD and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said that the SUV segment is growing, but other segments are also important for the company to maintain high market share. He said that Dzire has been a global success for the company and so far about 30 lakh units of it have been sold in different markets. Takeuchi said that the company has invested about Rs 1,000 crore in the development of this model.

Maruti Suzuki claims a mileage of 24.79 km for the new standard Dzire, 25.71 km for the automatic Dzire, and 33.73 km for the CNG variant.

In the Global NCAP crash test, Maruti Suzuki’s new Dzire has received a 5-star rating for adult passenger safety and 4 stars for child passenger safety.
Over 40 percent market share
MSI Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) Partho Banerjee said that the company endeavors to serve all customer segments. MSI currently has more than 40 percent market share (wholesale) in the total domestic passenger vehicle segment. In terms of retail sales, the company recorded its highest-ever performance with 2.02 lakh units in October. Its market share in the sedan segment is more than 50 percent. In the entry compact-sedan segment, which also includes Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura, etc., MSI’s market share is more than 61 percent in the April-September period of this financial year.
