Manipur Police arrests some militants, some illegal items seized including WY tablets

Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : In an operation, some active militants were arrested by Manipur Police and some illegal items have been recovered. Two active members of "valley based insurgent groups", Ningthoujam Thourangba alias Dingku alias Goro and Momocha Singh alias Paikhomba were arrested by the police on June 4, from the BP 81 area under the Moreh police station in Tengroupal district.

Arrests of some militants were carried out.

Huidrom Boyboy Singh, a native of Wabagai Thingel Leikai under the Hianglam police station in Kakching district, a member of People's Liberation Army was arrested by the security forces on the next day, that is on June 5. He was accused of being involved in arms smuggling and propaganda and display of banner, flag and posters in many areas. The other person arrested was Thangjam Diya Singh alias Manimatum, a member of KCP (MFL) from Lamsang Makha Leikai under the Imphal police station in Imphal West district, in an independent search operation. A number of incriminating items were also recovered.

In addition to the arrest of the militants, two smuggling cases were also busted by the police. Tobacco products were recovered from the Super Carry vehicle by the police on June 4, at around 4:25 p.m from Md Ajmal Khan, a native of Lilong Uku inThoubal district.

Further, on the same day security forces seized a truck loaded with about 46.370 kilograms of suspect WY tablets at SMPU Naka check post in Leigangpokpi under the Jiribam police station. The driver Pankaj Kumar Rai, a native of Telia Chhapra under the Sahebganj police station in Muzaffarpur district, Bihar was also arrested.
