Male Mahadeshwara Temple Records ₹2.54 Crore Donation; Nidasoshi Mutt Faces Leadership Dispute:

Suspense crime, Digital Desk : A remarkable ₹2.54 crore in cash donations was recorded at The Male Mahadeshwara Hill Temple in Karnataka during a 29-day period of hundi counting. This tremendous value highlights the temple’s standing as an important religious site for millions of Lord Mahadeshwara’s devotees.

Along with contributions from devotees, the counting under Saluru Swamiji’s supervision also found 69 grams of gold, 2.77 kilograms of silver, and some banknotes from other countries. Furthermore, six ₹2000 notes were included in the donations. As per the temple’s rules, all valuables collected will be stored in the treasury and sent to the government.

Leading Dispute Deepens at Nidasoshi Mutt

At the same time, tensions in Belagavi’s Nidasoshi Mutt are escalating regarding the hierarchy and the political controversies surrounding the leadership succession of the mutt. Despite the effort for peace by Lingayat community elders, the fight persists between the elder Swamiji, Panchamashivalingeshwara, and the younger Swamiji, Nijalingeshwara.

From the latest controversy, Nijalingeshwara Swamiji took a trip to Dubai for a Basava Jayanti celebration. He also met and took blessings from the senior Swamiji which hints to internal disputes albeit some form of recognition.

The Lingayat heads in turn have fixed a date for their final resolution on the matter to May 21 in order to find a solution to it in a conciliatory manner.
