Voting for 288 seats of Maharashtra Assembly will be held tomorrow i.e. on Wednesday and before that, there was political uproar throughout the day. Bahujan Vikas Aghadi accused BJP General Secretary Vinod Tawde of distributing cash to influence voters, due to which Bahujan Vikas Aghadi workers surrounded Vinod Tawde in a hotel in Virar and created a ruckus. The party alleges that there was a diary in the black bag with Tawde which contained Rs 15 crore which was brought for distribution. BVA MLA Hitendra Thakur alleged that Vinod Tawde had reached the hotel with cash to distribute the money among the voters.
BJP leader Tawde said- all the allegations are baseless, get them investigated
Vinod Tawde has called these allegations baseless and said that I had gone to the hotel to hold a meeting of BJP booth workers. I had to tell them how EVMs are sealed after voting and how to complain with the Election Commission if any discrepancy is found. The allegation of distributing notes is a conspiracy against me and nothing else. I am ready for any kind of investigation. He also said that the Election Commission and the police should investigate the CCTV footage of the hotel, the whole truth will come out.
Uddhav Thackeray’s allegation- Is this BJP’s note jihad?
Taking cognizance of the allegations, the Election Commission has registered an FIR against BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde and candidate Rajan Naik under various sections of the Representation of the People Act. The leaders of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance have surrounded the BJP on this issue. Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said, ‘When I was going to visit Maa Tulja Bhavani, my bag was searched by the Election Commission officials, however, they did not find anything in my bag. Now it has come to light that money has been found in Vinod Tawde’s bag. He said that if this BJP’s note jihad, we will win only if we distribute it.
