Cricketer Died: In the middle of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, there has come out one bad news that has shocked everyone across the globe and the world of cricket has gone into grief. A significant and prominent personality of cricketer from across the world has passed away all of a sudden. Now, this cricketer’s family and fans will be left in a state of shock over what has happened. In fact he was the oldest living Test cricketer and he is Ron Draper, who passed away on 28 February in Gqebarha, South Africa. 

The legendary batsman died so suddenly out of nowhere 

At the age of 98 years and 63 days, Ron Draper passes away the oldest living Test cricketer. Ron Draper was of former paying professional cricketer who batted at the top order and did some limited keeping. In his professional career, Ron Draper played for South Africa national team in two Test matches that were against Australia in the year 1950. During his time, Ron Draper faced some of the strongest other professional cricketers including Neil Harvey and now at the age of 96, Neil Harvey is the oldest living test cricketer.

Scored a century on debut

Northam Gordon persistently stayed in the chronicles as the oldest South African Test batsman until he was dethroned by Ron Draper. Draper scored a splendid 100 runs in his first class debut for Eastern Province on his 19 th birthday. Draper did also play as a wicketkeeper for his team in 1946-47. He played as a keeper sporadically through the rest of his career, but most notably Draper passed away alongside 100 years of priceless memories. Gordon passed away in 2016, at the mind-bending age of 103. 

Scored 86 runs while opening

In 1949–50, he kept wickets for the South African XI that went to Australia and later opened the innings for Eastern Province scoring 86 runs. Ron was debuting with three other South African players in the fourth match of the series and drew with him bat pages Dipole balance along with 15 runs. He sadly lost in the fifth test with 7 and 3 runs.
