The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has asked the makers of the film "War 2" to trim Kiara Advani's bikini scene in the song "Aavan Jaavan" by 9 seconds. This decision came as part of the board's directive to reduce all sensual imagery in the film by 50 percent. The CBFC's Examining Committee initially raised objections to certain visuals and dialogues, prompting the filmmakers to approach the Revising Committee, which granted a U/A 16+ certificate after the cuts and changes.

Along with cutting 9 seconds from Kiara Advani's pool sequence, the board also instructed the removal of an "obscene gesture" and the replacement of an objectionable dialogue with a toned-down version. The rest of the film's action sequences remained unchanged. Kiara's bikini appearance had attracted significant attention and praise online, especially as she had undertaken a strict fitness regime to prepare for the role.

Following these edits, "War 2" now has a final runtime of approximately 171.44 minutes (2 hours and 51 minutes) compared to an earlier longer version. The film is set to release on August 14, 2025, and will face box office competition from Rajinikanth's "Coolie."
