‘Kashmir Tigers’ killed 2 VDG members in Kishtwar, Army launched search operation; Encounter continues in Sopore

After the killing of two VDG (Village Defense Group) members in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, the army has started a search operation in search of terrorists. Meanwhile, during the search operation in Sopore, an encounter broke out between terrorists and army personnel. The Indian Army has said that this encounter is ongoing. 

The two people who were killed in Kishtwar were shepherds by profession and had gone to Munjala Dhar (Adhwari) to graze their cattle as usual. But this time they did not return home.

The deceased have been identified as Nazir Ahmad son of Mohammad Khalil and Kuldeep Kumar son of Amar Chand, both residents of Ohli Kuntwara. The family and locals grew suspicious when the two did not reach their homes by evening. Since then, the situation in the area has remained tense, and security forces have started a search operation in the area. Meanwhile, the terrorist organization “Kashmir Tigers” has issued a statement taking responsibility for the murder. The organization has claimed that they have committed this murder in the name of Islam and the freedom of Kashmir. 

Encounter in spore

After the killing of VGD members, security concerns have increased in the area. Police and security forces have increased vigil in the area and started investigating the matter. After this incident, the police and the army started a massive search operation. Meanwhile, an encounter has started between security forces and terrorists in Sagipora of Sopore. Joint security forces launched a massive cordon and search operation, after which firing started. It is believed that two terrorists are present.

The Indian Army said that based on specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a joint operation in Panipura, Sopore, and Baramulla. The soldiers noticed suspicious activity and on being challenged, the terrorists started firing indiscriminately. In response, the soldiers took effective action. The encounter is ongoing.
