In Kanpur, a head constable fainted in the scorching sun and fell down. The inspector standing nearby kept making a video instead of taking the head constable to the hospital. Shortly after this, the head constable died in the hospital. The video of this incident went viral on social media. Questions were also being raised on the police regarding this. Now the SI who made the video has been given a clean chit on the charge of negligence.
According to the agency, 52-year-old Head Constable Brij Kishore posted in Kanpur was going to his home in Jhansi on a 3-day leave, but he fell unconscious due to extreme heat outside the station. During this time, a sub-inspector thought it necessary to make a video instead of immediately taking the head constable to the hospital.
A senior police officer says that Head Constable Brajkishore died of heat stroke. The police officer says that no negligence was committed in his treatment.
Assistant Police Commissioner (Collectorganj) Mohammad Mohsin Khan said that Brajkishore, a resident of Jhansi posted in the Reserve Police Line, had reached Kanpur Central Station on Tuesday to catch a train to go to his home. When he reached the station gate, he started feeling dizzy and somehow went to a nearby shop. There he fainted due to heat stroke.
The ACP said that Brajkishore was later taken to a nearby police booth where sub-inspector Jag Pratap Singh came to his aid. During investigation, it was found that the SI had given water to Brajkishore and also performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation to save his life.
The SI made a video and asked the constable if any untoward incident had happened to him. The SI also took him to the hospital, where Brajkishore died during treatment. When the SI was inquiring about the constable’s health, someone made a video and shared it
