Durga Puja Travel Alert: Indian Railways Revises Timings for Ganga-Sutlej, Humsafar, and Other Express Trains
Planning a train journey during the upcoming Durga Puja festival season requires a close check on updated schedules, as Indian Railways has announced permanent and seasonal timetable revisions for several long-distance express trains originating from Dhanbad. Effective starting this October, passengers commuting on prominent routes—including the Ganga-Sutlej Express, Kolkata-Jammu Tawi Express, and Jammu Tawi-Sealdah Humsafar Express—will experience altered arrival and departure times at various stations across the network.
Key Train Schedule Adjustments Effective From October
The adjustments are part of operational rescheduling, influenced in part by the extension of the Sabarmati-Jammu Tawi Express up to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra. Travelers should note the following revised timings:
13307 Dhanbad–Firozpur Cantt. Ganga-Sutlej Express (Effective October 17): Will arrive at Firozpur Cantt station at 10:10 AM instead of the usual 10:00 AM.
13151 Kolkata–Jammu Tawi Express (Effective October 18): Will reach Jammu Tawi station at 9:15 AM instead of 8:50 AM.
22318 Jammu Tawi–Sealdah Humsafar Express (Effective October 21): Will depart from Jammu Tawi station earlier at 6:50 AM instead of 7:20 AM.
18309 Sambalpur–Jammu Tawi Express (Effective October 17): Scheduled to arrive at Hiranagar station at 1:28 PM (instead of 2:03 PM) and Vijaypur Jammu station at 1:46 PM (instead of 2:18 PM).
18101 Tatanagar–Jammu Tawi Express (Effective October 18): Will reach Hiranagar station at 1:28 PM and Vijaypur Jammu station at 1:46 PM.
Railway authorities advise all passengers booked on these routes during the festive rush to cross-check their updated departure and arrival times through official ticketing portals before heading to the station.
