Bihar BPSC Teachers Service Book Update: Comprehensive Service Records to Be Created and Updated
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has initiated a comprehensive process to organize and digitize the service records of teachers appointed through various Teacher Recruitment Examinations (TRE). Under the latest administrative guidelines, brand-new original service books will be established for teachers from TRE-1, TRE-2, and TRE-3 who previously lacked them, while existing service records for other educators will be systematically updated with current appointment details.
Scope of the Service Record Organization
The directive issued by District Education Officer Raghvendra Mani Tripathi applies to headmasters, head teachers, and school educators appointed across middle, secondary, and higher secondary institutions. Responsible officials at the block and district levels have been assigned strict timelines to ensure that all teacher files are fully audited, corrected, and structured without errors.
Key Information Recorded in the New Service Books
The newly prepared service books will function as comprehensive repositories of professional data. Essential details required in each record include:
Personal identification, photographs, specimen signatures, and official appointment letters.
Complete documentation regarding initial joining contributions, regular service verifications, and annual salary increments.
Official records of transfers, approvals concerning upgraded educational qualifications, and detailed leave accounts (excluding casual and special leaves, which require formal approval copies).
Verification and Countersignature Hierarchy
To maintain complete accuracy before records are submitted to district headquarters, a multi-tier verification process has been established:
Initial Entries: Principal or head teachers of respective schools will record baseline information, including names, school postings, permanent addresses, and biometric impressions.
Primary and Middle Schools: Block Education Officers will review and countersign service books for elementary educators.
Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools: District Program Officers for Secondary Education and Literacy will oversee the final evaluation and countersignature of senior teaching staff before final district archiving.
