Hamas criticizes Israel for killing Salah Al-Bardaweel, a Hamas political chief, on an airstrike that took place on Sunday in Khan Younis. Al-Bardaweel’s death marked the escalation of the Israeli military campaign that commenced last Tuesday, and his wife is said to have died in the airstrike as well, as reported by pro-Hamas media.

Israeli officials did not provide any remarks about the accusation.

Israel’s latest air and ground campaign to stop Hamas, a militant Palestinian group that has control over Gaza, initiated on Tuesday and has intensified further with time.
