Videos were posted claiming that after the Indian cricket team one the champion’s trophy on Sunday evening, a the police began to engage with lathi cricket fans at Dilsukhnagar.
A lead police officer retold the public that they did not beat them as reported and that they only quenched the freedom of the people so that the ambulance could get through.
An officer reported that, “They were not just roadblocks, they also obstructed two ambulances. The police cleared them (the people on the road) so that the ambulances could proceed.” India's cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, recently outperformed New Zealand in the ICC Championship Trophy finale, scoring a remarkable three-time win. Noteworthy is the fact that this victory has also granted India the title for having the most wins in this tournament, making the Indian team the best in the Champions Trophy. Moreover, this also marks India's second major title win within the last year.
