Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has reportedly been moved to a secure underground bunker along with his family as the nation braces for a potential retaliatory strike from Israel. The move underscores the high level of anxiety within the Iranian regime following its unprecedented aerial attack on Israeli territory.
According to a report by the British newspaper The Sun, which cited security sources, the decision was made out of fear that Israel is preparing an imminent and direct response. The entire Iranian establishment is on high alert, anticipating the nature and scale of Israel's promised retaliation.
This high-stakes security measure comes in the wake of Iran's massive drone and missile assault on Israel over the weekend. Iran launched over 300 projectiles, including ballistic missiles and explosive drones, in what it claimed was a response to an earlier Israeli strike on its consulate in Damascus.
However, the attack was overwhelmingly intercepted. Israel, with significant assistance from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Jordan, successfully neutralized 99% of the incoming threats, preventing major casualties and damage.
Now, the world watches as Israel's war cabinet deliberates on its next move. While facing international pressure to de-escalate the situation, Israeli leaders have made it clear that a response is forthcoming. The United States, which played a key role in defending Israel, has publicly stated that it will not participate in any offensive counter-strike against Iran, urging restraint to prevent a wider regional war.
The alleged relocation of Khamenei to a secret, fortified location highlights the gravity of the situation. After years of a "shadow war" fought through proxies, the direct exchange of fire between the two regional powers has pushed the Middle East to the brink of a major conflict.
