Bahrain: The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has warned that Iran is rapidly increasing its stockpile of uranium, which can be used to make nuclear weapons. He also said that Iran has started building advanced centrifuges. Rafael Mariano Grossi made this comment just hours after Iran announced the successful launch of a spacecraft with its heaviest weight ever.

What are Western countries saying

Iran’s successful space launch has been accused by Western countries of improving Tehran’s ballistic missile program. The launch of the Simorgh rocket came at a time when Iran had claimed the presence of 60 percent of the uranium needed for a nuclear program. Iran says its nuclear program is peaceful while officials are potentially seeking a bomb and an intercontinental ballistic missile to enable Tehran to use the weapon against distant enemies such as the United States.

Tension may increase in West Asia

.Iran’s move is expected to increase tensions in West Asia, where Israel’s war against Hamas continues in the Gaza Strip and attacks are taking place in Lebanon even after a ceasefire. However, Iran is busy preparing the ground for possible talks with the incoming government of newly elected US President Donald Trump. Trump withdrew the US from Tehran’s nuclear deal with world powers during his first term.
