In this video, Gavaskar is saying that when a player has to be retained, there is a lot of talk between the franchise and the player about the salary. The equations of the auction are different. Rishabh Pant has been with Delhi Capitals since his first season in IPL i.e. 2016. Even after being injured in a road accident in 2022, the Delhi team retained him. However, Delhi released Pant before IPL 2025. Ignoring their captain Rishabh Pant, Delhi retained Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, and Abhishek Porel.
