In an exhilarating match of IPL in Visakhapatnam, Delhi Capitals scored a thrilling one-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants due to the stunning unbeaten 66 off 31 balls from impact substitute Ashutosh Sharma.

This match winning innings from Sharma included smashing five fours and five sixes which included a frightening six off Shahbaz Ahmed three balls before the innings was completed with a target of 210.

It was not an easy chase for Delhi Capitals as they suffered a setback at 7 for 3 and later phase of the game at 113 for 6. But Ashutosh with some help from Vipraj Nigam who scored 39 runs off 15 balls, helped win the game. Their rapid 55 runs partnership was very important for the chase.

Injuries to Lucknow Super Giants’ frontline pacers severely restricted their effectiveness. They also had problems with Ravi Bishnoi’s bowling in which he gave up 53 runs.

Earlier in the match, Lucknow Super Giants set a target of 209 after 8 overs, with exceptional half centuries coming from Mitchell Marsh (72) and Nicholas Pooran (75). The pitch was pro-batting.  


Delhi Capitals’ bowling attack struggled during the match. Though Kuldeep Yadav was their best bowler, taking 2 wickets for 20 runs, Mitchell Starc took 3, giving 42 runs.
