WhatsApp has now become available as the primary calling and messaging app on the Apple’s iOS 18.2 version unlike its predecessor that only limited users to use the built-in Phone and Messages app. As of now, iPhone users are excited at being able to select third-party apps like WhatsApp due the Apple latest update which lets users replace phone dialer and messaging services with third-party apps of their choice.
Lets cover how to enable this feature and set WhatsApp as your primary app:
First, open Settings and navigate to the Default Apps section to choose WhatsApp as the default app for both calling and messaging. Afterward, make sure you update the app from the App Store to ensure integration of all features.
Tip: You will have to set the default apps for calls and messages separately. Two alternatives are available for selection. Changing WhatsApp to the default app for calling will only change the default calling app but not for messaging and the other way around as well.
