Infosys employees continue to be in a celebratory mood, even as AI dominates
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : The number of employees in the country's largest IT firm Infosys earning over Rs 1 crore annually has reached a record high. The number of Infosys employees earning over Rs 1 crore on a yearly basis reached 130 according to information provided by the company. This is an increase of 16% over the last year and the company states that the change is due to a rise in the value of stock incentives (ESOPs) and salary increases. This surge in the crorepati members came as a time when the IT industry is reeling from uncertainties as AI, generative AI and automation gain further prominence.
For a clarification, the millionaire employees mentioned in the annual reports consist solely of employees based in India who have been working with the company for the full financial year. Employees who have either joined or left the company during the course of the year are not counted as they would not have worked for the entire year. Salaries of the top 10 highest-paid employees are excluded from this calculation.
In FY24, 103 employees became crorepatis.
According to the data that has been extracted from the annual reports of the company, 103 of the Infosys employees earned more than 1 crore in FY24 that marks a decline of 17% compared to the previous year, but has picked up to 112 employees in FY25, which marks an increase of 9%. This figure was under 100 before FY22 and the company had mentioned that, in the year FY26 only 22 high-paid employees had departed, as against 67 over the last two years.
By the end of FY27 Infosys do not anticipate their workforce numbers to decrease; it is planned for the company to recruit 20,000 graduates, an identical number to that in the prior year, during the coming financial year.
Infosys Quarterly results:
IT company Infosys announced a profit of 8,501 crore, an increase of 20.8% during the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2025-26 and has estimated a profit of 1.5 to 3.5% during the fiscal year 2026-27. Operating revenue for the company during the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025-26 has increased to 46,402 crore from 40,925 crore a year ago, which represents an increase of 13.4%.
