India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’: PM Modi Highlights Role of Indigenous Defence Systems and National Self-Reliance:

Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : In the most recent Mann Ki Baat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Indian Defense systems for their success in ‘Operation Sindoor’ saying that it is a mark of India being self reliant. Moreover, Modi explained that it is a result of collective national effort.

PM Modi further remarked that Indian soldiers played a crucial role in the Indian made weaponry being successful in the mission, and that India being technologically advanced also contributed to the operation being successful. He added that the contribution of Indian engineers and technicians was crucial for the growth of India’s technology.

The ‘Vocal for Local Campaign’ Gaining Support

The PM pointed towards a surge in regional and national support for the “Vocal for Local” campaign after the operation as well. He mentioned that the citizens became more conscious of their consumer choices and the fact that they are buying Indian products.

As shared by PM Modi, citizens are making personal commitments like purchasing locally made toys, travelling within the country, hiring local craftsmen for gifts, and having weddings in the country. These, according to Modi, indicate an increase in growing nationalism and economic independency efforts.

Operation Sindoor: Strategic Military Action

In retaliation to the Pahalgam attack where 26 lives were lost, the Indian Armed Forces executed Operation Sindoor where they struck 9 terror bases within Pakistan occupied Kashmir and the adjacent areas. The operation attempted to cripple terrorist infrastructure and discourage future activities of terrorism.

In the speech, the Prime Minister said that this mission did not only comprise military action but was also one of the shifting paradigms of India’s defence posture and willingness to take risks to protect its people.

A Global Message Against Terrorism

India is working against terrorism on all fronts, and MODI called this operation a step forward to achieving greater synergy towards counter terrorism. Using precision weapons to minimize civilian casualties and achieve such operational outcomes is a paradigm shift for India. There is a new resolve to take on any aggression with full response and that is what sends stronger signals internationally.

With such a recent statement, one can look back at a prior statement made by PM MODI where he chastised the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack by stating they will bring forward cumbrous retribution which strengthens the idea that the government will indeed make sure that such promises are kept.
