Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised a question on the loss of Indian aircraft during Operation Sindoor and why Jaishankar had not addressed that issue. The BJP was particularly furious with him for what they perceived as siding with the Pakistani narrative.
Amit Malviya, head of the BJP’s IT cell, mocked Rahul for ignoring Modi’s role in what he referred to as a “flawless” operation. He also mentioned that Gandhi is fixated with asking about Indian losses, despite the answer having been provided in previous DGMO briefs.
Gandhi Draws Criticism Over Alleged Unjust Comments with No Basis From BJP Party Members
Malviya highlighted Indian losses like the downed jets, which were either shot down or destroyed on the ground, further stating that it is odd that the Indian losses terminology does not feature in his commentary. Calling Gandhi a “modern-day Mir Jafar” suggests alignment with Pakistan’s interests.
He went a step further to claim that Indian social media platforms were being manipulated post-conflict to frame the perception that India emerged defeated, and those narratives were being spread by Pakistani media.
Continued Criticism from BJP
As per Malviya, this is not the first incident where Pakistan has used Gandhi’s statements to defend terrorism. He argued that Gandhi's remarks have been used in other international hearings to protect the image of Pakistan.
He posed the question for the Congress member saying, “Where does one draw a line in political chase and national duty?”
Rahul Gandhi Repeats Allegations
Reiterating his position on Monday, Gandhi reiterated the allegation that the Indian government notifies Pakistan in advance before executing strikes and termed this “criminal.” Once again attacking Jaishankar’s earlier remark, he branded the minister's absence of words ‘damning.’
Gandhi tweeted, “So let me repeat my question: How many Indian planes did we reluctantly surrender because Pakistan was aware? This was not a miscalculation, it was an act of treason. And the country deserves the truth.”
