In the Asian Champions Trophy held in Rajgir, Bihar, the Indian women’s team hoisted the tricolor and defeated China to win the title for the third time. India defeated China 1-0 in the final. The Indian players performed brilliantly and kept the ball under their control most of the time and on the other hand, the Chinese players could not score a single goal in the match. Deepika scored the only goal of the match for India and with the help of her goal, India was successful in winning the title.
India equalled South Korea.
Led by Salima Tete, the Indian women’s team dominated the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 and did not lose a single match in the entire tournament. India defeated Japan in the semi-finals. India has won the Asian Champions Trophy title for the third time (2016, 2023, 2024). With this, India has equaled South Korea. South Korea has also won the ACT Champions Trophy title three times.

Deepika scored a brilliant goal
After the first half remained goalless, Deepika scored a goal on a penalty corner given to India in the first minute of the second half, which instilled enthusiasm among the spectators present in the packed Bihar Sports University Stadium. In the very first minute of the second half, Lalremsiami got a penalty corner for India. The first shot was missed but the ball was inside the circle and deflected from Navneet’s stick and reached Deepika who put it inside the goal with a brilliant flick. India had a golden opportunity to double the lead in the third quarter itself but Deepika’s shot on a penalty stroke in the 42nd minute was saved by the Chinese goalkeeper by diving to the right.
India did not lose a single match in ACT 2024
In the Asian Champions Trophy 2024, India played five matches and won all of them. That is, the team has managed to capture the Champions Trophy title without losing a single match. The Chinese team played five matches, out of which it lost only one, and that too the final. In the final, the Chinese players could not show anything special against India.
