Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : An Indian Parliamentary all-parties meeting met as a conference with the Indian community in Seoul on Sunday and provided context for Operation Sindoor, which is India’s retaliatory military assault following the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22.  

This is one of seven such cases from India to counter international terrorism campaigns, where each has been assigned 33 capitals to explain India’s perspective and highlight Pakistan’s role in sponsoring terrorism through cross-border violence. The team is headed by JDU Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, who reached South Korea on Saturday.  

Addressing The Impact Foward Of India’s Pahalgam Attack Response  

The Indian embassy in South Korea indicated that the delegation underscored the relevance of Pakistan in the Pahalgam incident which caused the deaths of 26 people. They further explained how India has retaliated to such aggression and has done military action through Operation Sindoor which dismantained terror networks in Pakistan and occupied Kashmir (PoK).  

“The focus was on avoiding escalation without bluster. Pakistan is loved for being reckless, further remarked the embassy. Response was steady, responsible, and at best, constrained.”  

While addressing the members belonging to the Indian community, the delegation reiterated, and on the record, the position which was strongly conveyed by the government of India that negotiation is not possible when terrorism is happening.

Diaspora's Role in Advancing National Identity  

The delegation commended the Indian diaspora for promoting and nurturing tolerance, unity, and terrorism resilience. The embassy mentioned the Indian diaspora’s efforts in enhancing India’s image internationally as well as bolstering national morale in the fight against terrorism.  

Earlier, the delegation was updated by Amit Kumar, the ambassador, highlighting the specific strategies for Indian engagements in South Korea, further emphasizing India’s stance on terrorism.  

Interaction With Korean Officials and Other Think Tanks  

The delegation scheduled outreach meetings outside the Indian diaspora community, incorporating the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, prominent National Assembly members, and the leading South Korean think tank as well as the media. These meetings are intended to enhance cooperation on counter-terrorism.  

Sanjay Kumar Jha posted on X, 'It was a privilege to visit the Land of Morning Calm together with the all-party Indian delegation to advance India-South Korea counter-terrorism relations.'  

Delegation Composition And Visit To Japan  

The multi-party delegation: MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Abhishek Banerjee, Brij Lal, John Brittas, Pradan Baruah, Hemang Joshi, former external affairs minister Salman Khurshid, former ambassador Mohan Kumar.  

This group visited Japan recently, receiving strong messages of support from Tokyo regarding India’s counter-terrorism policy.

Timeline of Recent Hostilities

The terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 heightened the already existing India Pakistan tensions. Subsequently, India initiated precision strikes in response under Operation Sindoor on May 7. This was further followed by Pakistani counter attempt on May 8, 9, and 10. India took decisive measures on Pakistan’s counter attempts.  

Indian and Pakistani DGMOs had discussions which lead to the de-escalation of the military operations, and subsequently both sides agreed to a cessation of hostilities on May 10, 2023.
