"It has come to our attention that certain reports and rumours have been circulating regarding Mr. Sachin Tendulkar being considered, or nominated, for the position of President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)," the statement read. "We wish to categorically state that no such development has taken place.
The statement urged everyone to ignore the "unfounded speculations," making it clear that the Master Blaster is not in the running for the top job in Indian cricket
The buzz began after the BCCI president's post became vacant. Roger Binny, who took on the role in October 2022, stepped down after reaching the board's mandatory age cap of 70 With the BCCI's Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections scheduled for September 28, the question of his successor has been a hot topic. In the interim, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla has stepped in as the acting president.
