Suspense crime, Digital Desk : India and France will sign a deal on Monday for the purchase of twenty-six Rafale Marine fighter Jets for the total consideration of Rs 63,000 Cr. This deal is signed during high Indo-Pak tensions over the Pahalgam terror attacks on April 22.
The fighter jets are a necessity to extend and fortify the Navy’s arsenal and capabilities, including the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.
Information with regards signing of Agreement
Rajesh Kumar is expected to represent the Indian side prior to the meeting and is expected to be present for the signing session which will include the Indian Defence Ministry and the French Ambassador to India.
Both parties including Indian and French Defence ministers will join in on the meeting through their parlimentary consulates. Alongside the inter-government agreement, multiple G2B contracts are also presumed to be accomplished.
This comes with the order for 22 single and 4 double seater Rafale Marine fighter Jets, and also comes with full support of fleet's maintenance, logistics, procedures, training, and local supply of some manufactured parts.
Rafale Marine jets are to Specifically set tailored for the rms Vikrant and the alterations tell India military standards perpendicular to all other of it's operation.
On April 9, this significant acquisition was sanctioned by India’s Cabinet Committee on Security led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
India-Pakistan Hostility
The execution of the deal comes after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people in Kashmir. Hostilities between India and Pakistan have been heightened ever since the attack.
Pakistan has continued to breach ceasefire agreements around the LoC since the attack. Consequently, the Indian Army has responded aggressively and decisively to these breaches.
