Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : This operation, which goes by the name “Sindoor,” is India’s way of sending all-party delegations to various countries for deepening support against terrorism and tackling the ‘misinformation machine’ regarding India’s response to the terror attack of Pahalgam that took place on April 22.

A number of parliament members are included in this international delegation currently on its way to or has already toured the US, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Algeria, Japan, South Korea, Qatar, Egypt, Ethiopia, South Africa, Singapore and Malaysia.

The main goal for these delegates is to promote an “India is a nation of peace” narrative, where they explain the need for a unified fight against terror organizations brought to life through cross-territorial aggression.

Strategic response to terrorism: US visit

In the New York meeting, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor made it clear that the Indian government is doing everything possible to ensure all sub-territorial terrorism activities are properly contained. Emphasis was put on the Pahalgam incident being a wanton attempt of an ‘activist’ terror attack. It was bluntly stated that there is no better justification than stating it’s a message that serves no regard to acting on terrorism.

With Tharoor’s explanations, he also pointed out the need the country has to prove that it is acting upon the terrorists without needing to use forceful means, and could instead guide them into submission. This is what drives and guides the current members of non-partisan Legislative Regulatory Assemblies to counsel active authority, representing political branches, with former Indian ambassador to the USA Taranjit Singh Sandhu.

Bahrain Visit: Religious Extremism and Diplomatic Clarification

BJP MP Baijayant Panda, head of the Bahrain group, insisted that India perceives the matter as strictly bilateral with Pakistan. He stated that the follow-up India gave was only after Pakistan’s provocation, and that ceasefire was a form of agreement in principle accepted by both sides.

AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi denounced the religious extremism of terrorists, saying that Islam is opposed to violence and holds the concept of life with great respect.

East Asia Delegations: Unwavering Resolve on Future Measures

JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha, following his engagement with Japan and South Korea, restated India’s position. He highlighted that any further terrorist activities conducted by Pakistan would be met with severe consequences. He also referred to the possible suspension of the Indus Water Treaty as a sign of India’s more resolute stance.

Moscow Delegation: No Harm was Inflicted on Civilians

DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi from the Moscow delegation stressed on responsibility of India. She said that only sites for terror training were attacked and no harm was done to civilians and military installations. She added that as a matter of principle, India always seeks for pursuit of peace; but terrorism, that is nurtured by Pakistan, is an obstacle.

UAE Visit: Trade and Terrorism are Incompatible

Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde noted in the UAE that terrorism is a barrier to achieving any normalizable relations between countries. In Shinde's view, there is no political party in India which supports terrorism, and unless terrorism is eradicated, no dialogue can happen.

Qatar and Egypt Ethiopia and South Africa Delegation: Stance of Unified Opposition

Supriya Sule, an MP from NCP-SCP who led the delegation, said that all the opposition parties are on the same page regarding matters of national security. Congress MP Manish Tewari also condemned Pakistan for its historical role in sponsoring terrorism, saying that for over four decades, the country has been training and arming terrorists.

European Delegation: Declaring Pakistan a Terror State

In Europe, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad and Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi made completely opposing claims. Chaturvedi, calling Pakistan “Aatankistan”, reiterated that ‘Operation Sindoor’ was India’s strong reply to cross-border terrorism. She stressed on the self-sufficiency of India's defense system and its ability to respond effectively.
