Multi-Crore Rural Makeover: Sonipat Municipal Corporation Fast-Tracks Massive Sewerage,
In a major infrastructure overhaul aimed at bridging the civic gap between metropolitan zones and outlying rural settlements, the Sonipat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has initiated an extensive multi-crore rural rejuvenation blueprint across peri-urban villages under its civic purview. Designed to tackle chronic waterlogging, outdated drainage networks, and unpaved transit corridors, the comprehensive developmental agenda encompasses deep-bore drinking water pipelines, centralized underground sewerage networks, stormwater channels, and modern multi-purpose civic facilities. From Fazilpur and Livaspur to Jagdishpur, Jat Joshi, and Liwan, the civic corporation is systematically allocating dedicated project budgets to transform municipal villages into self-sufficient, well-connected suburban hubs.
Major Outlays for Underground Sewerage and 7 MLD Waste Disposal Infrastructure
A primary share of the sanctioned funding is earmarked for high-capacity underground sewerage connectivity to eliminate untreated wastewater discharge across rural lanes. Authorities have cleared ₹9.44 crore to construct an extensive main trunk line connecting Livaspur village directly to the Sector 4/27 junction along the high-density Bahalgarh Road. Concurrently, standalone sewerage packages totaling ₹7.98 crore for internal lanes of Livaspur and ₹1.31 crore for Hashamabad have received final administrative sanctions to route domestic effluent into municipal networks. In Jagdishpur, a dedicated capital allocation of ₹4.06 crore is directed toward comprehensive sewer line coverage, supported by an additional ₹2.08 crore investment focused on establishing an advanced 7 MLD (million liters per day) wastewater disposal plant to support long-term sanitation demands.
Fazilpur Rejuvenation: Upgraded Revenue Roads, Clean Potable Water, and Stormwater Lines
Under a dedicated ₹1.10 crore micro-infrastructure plan, Fazilpur village is set for comprehensive foundational modernization addressing longstanding waterlogging and transit challenges. The civic works feature ₹44.47 lakh allocated for constructing durable, heavy-load bituminous revenue roads to improve inter-village connectivity, paired with a ₹44 lakh freshwater supply scheme to install pressurized potable pipeline infrastructure directly into rural residential pockets. To prevent monsoon inundation and surface runoff overflow, civil engineers have designed an integrated stormwater drainage network costing approximately ₹22 lakh (₹2.2 million), ensuring swift rainwater clearance during severe downpours.
Civic Infrastructure Upgrade: State-of-the-Art Community Centers Across Rural Pockets
Recognizing the acute shortage of structured indoor civic and social spaces for local residents, the municipal corporation has approved massive expenditures to build modern community centers across outlying areas. The administrative board cleared ₹4.04 crore for a flagship community center in Revali village, alongside ₹4.21 crore dedicated to a twin facility serving Jagdishpur. Similarly, ₹3.07 crore (₹30.7 million) is allocated to overhaul localized sewerage channels in Jat Joshi, accompanied by twin community center approvals valued at ₹4.14 crore (₹41.4 million) for Liwan and ₹4.16 crore (₹41.6 million) for Jat Joshi, ensuring residents have accessible, fully-equipped civic complexes for community gatherings, cultural assemblies, and seasonal public welfare initiatives.
