Economic Milestone: Haryana Retains #1 Spot Nationwide in SGST Collection Growth with Record 31% Surge
Cementing its status as an economic powerhouse, Haryana has successfully retained the number one position in the country for post-settlement State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) collection growth during the first four months of the financial year 2026-27. Building on its stellar performance from the previous year, the state continues to outperform national economic benchmarks by a wide margin. According to the latest official report released by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Haryana's robust financial momentum underscores its steady fiscal health, effective administrative execution, and disciplined tax compliance frameworks.
Surging Figures: July Collections and Four-Month Performance Breakdown
Highlighting the sharp upward trajectory, Haryana's post-settlement SGST collections for July reached an impressive Rs 5,135 crore, marking a substantial increase from Rs 4,027 crore recorded in the same month last year. This translated to a year-on-year growth rate of 28 percent, which is more than double the national average of 13 percent for July. Looking at the broader picture across the first four months from April to July 2026, cumulative post-settlement SGST collections touched Rs 19,680 crore compared to Rs 15,055 crore during the corresponding period in the previous fiscal year, registering an extraordinary growth rate of 31 percent.
Surpassing National Averages and Reflecting Financial Strength
The latest data indicates that Haryana's 31 percent four-month growth rate stands as the highest recorded among all states across India, comfortably outpacing the national average of 17 percent. Additionally, the state registered a notable 25 percent increase in total GST revenue collections for July 2026 alone, vastly outperforming the national average of 10 percent for the same duration. State officials attribute this consistent, high-velocity revenue growth to proactive monitoring, targeted administrative measures, and a thriving business environment that collectively reflect Haryana's strong economic foundation under focused governance.
