Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Potential buyers and investors in Uttar Pradesh received some welcome news on Thursday, June 20, 2024, as the prices of both gold and silver registered a noticeable decline across major cities in the state.

In the state capital, Lucknow, the price of 22-carat gold dropped by ₹260 to settle at ₹66,590 per 10 grams. Similarly, 24-carat gold, known for its higher purity, saw a reduction of ₹280, bringing its rate down to ₹72,630 per 10 grams. These prices were reportedly consistent in other key urban centers, including Noida and Ghaziabad.

The drop in silver prices was even more significant. The precious white metal became cheaper by a substantial ₹2,100 per kilogram, with the new market rate quoted at ₹91,900 per kg in Lucknow.

This downward trend provides a window of opportunity for consumers planning to purchase jewelry for weddings or festivals, as well as for investors who view precious metals as a safe-haven asset.

It is important for consumers to note that these are the benchmark rates for the metals. The final price at a local jewelry store will be slightly higher after factoring in Goods and Services Tax (GST), making charges, and any other applicable state taxes.
