Suspense crime, Digital Desk : R. Madhavan, the actor who charmed a generation as the quintessential romantic hero in films like Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, is returning to the genre he's famous for. But this time, he's celebrating a refreshing change: playing a character that reflects his own age.

In his upcoming romantic comedy, Aap Jaisa Koi, Madhavan portrays a 42-year-old man. In a recent interview, he expressed his immense relief and happiness about the role, a significant statement in an industry often criticized for casting older male actors opposite much younger female leads.

"I am glad that I got to play an age-appropriate role in a romantic film," Madhavan said. "It is nice to play your age in a romantic film."

He acknowledged the constant pressure on actors in the entertainment industry to maintain a youthful image. His decision to embrace a more mature character is being seen as a welcome departure from that trend, highlighting that romance and leading roles are not exclusive to the young.

The film, directed by Jasmeet K. Reen, explores a more grounded love story. Madhavan plays a widower who finds a second chance at love with a character played by Shaitani Sheth. The plot itself is centered on a more realistic, mature romance.

For fans who have grown up adoring "Maddy" as the young heartthrob, seeing him evolve into a mature romantic lead is a welcome development. His candid comments signal a positive shift towards more authentic and relatable storytelling in Bollywood.
