Fraud, forgery, embezzlement... such individuals are now in trouble in UP, CM Yogi orders EOW
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Financial fraud, forgery and embezzlement as well as other economic crimes do not only harm government money but also damage the trust of the common man. Action against such offenders needs to be swift and effective: CM Yogi Adityanath.
Offenders involved in cases of financial fraud, forgery and embezzlement are in trouble in UP now. To give a boost to the action against financial and economic crimes, the Economic Offences Investigation Organisation (EOW) will now be equipped with modern technology, a strong investigation system, and a successful monitoring mechanism. CM Yogi Adityanath has instructed thatquick action, swift conviction and effective implementation of action against people who commit crimes such as financial fraud, forgery and embezzlement are guaranteed in the state. On Wednesday, the EOW is all set for taking stern actions. Two people on the run after availing bank loan have already been arrested.
CM Yogi reviewed current and pending investigation, inquiry, arrest, prosecution and awareness activities as well as organizational reforms during the meeting. According to him, "Financial fraud, forgery, embezzlement and other economic crimes do not only affect government money but also diminish the trust of the common man. Those involved in financial crimes must be dealt with strongly and promptly". The meeting was informed that efforts are underway to expedite the pending cases, out of which 155 investigations, inquiries, and follow-up proceedings have been completed by May 31, 2026 and 71 offenders have been arrested during this period. The CM emphasized thatold cases should be cleared with priority and stringent actions must be initiated against wanted offenders.
"Cases with conclusive proof should be pursued to the full extent of the law by carrying out speedy prosecution and legal proceedings", stated CM Yogi. He also added thatconvictions should be maximized through stringent prosecution, reliable investigations and well-documented evidence. After reviewing major cases, directions were given for the effective prosecution and monitoring of each case, so that culprits are punished and held accountable according to law.
Create case management system
During the meeting it was reported that a Case Management System (CMS) is implemented for efficient management of investigations, inquiries, and follow-up actions that enable digital case management, online reporting, and real-time monitoring through dashboards. "This technology-based system will improve the quality of investigations. We must ensure that investigations are completed on time as the investigating officer should not be holding on to any file beyond three months", CM Yogi concluded. Accountability must be set for officers in terms of clearance of cases.
