Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Mumbai, India – Darsheel Safary, the actor who captured the nation's heart as Ishaan Awasthi in the 2007 blockbuster Taare Zameen Par, is navigating his adult career in Bollywood with a strong sense of principle. In a candid new interview, he addressed a question he often faces: why doesn't he leverage his high-profile connection with his mentor, superstar Aamir Khan, to get work?
His answer revealed a deep and abiding respect that prevents him from treating the relationship as a shortcut to success.
"He's my guru. He's a teacher. I can't go to him and be like, 'Sir, do you have a script for me?'" Darsheel explained. He drew a clear line between a professional mentorship and a casual family relationship, stating, “He is not my brother that I can go and ask him for work.”
Darsheel emphasized his desire to earn roles on his own merit. He believes in the process of auditioning and proving his capabilities as an actor, rather than asking for favors. He is confident that if Aamir Khan ever has a role that he feels is a perfect fit for him, the call will come.
"He knows me, and if he has something for me, he will call me," Darsheel affirmed, indicating that the lines of communication are open, but on a professional level. "I don't need to go and ask him. I think that is a very incorrect way of approaching it."
This stance highlights a rare display of professional integrity from the young actor, who is determined to build his career based on his own talent and hard work, not on the coattails of his famous mentor.
Darsheel Safary was recently seen in the film Hukus Bukus. His thoughtful approach to his career demonstrates a maturity and dedication to the craft, proving that the lessons learned from his iconic debut continue to guide his path in the industry.
