Fearing a legal notice from Ranveer Singh, FWICE had revoked its ban. The President said, 'If they are of the opinion...'
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : The Don 3 dispute between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar seems far from ending. Both sides are leaving no stone unturned to show that they are no less than the other. It was reported recently that the Federation of Western India Cine Employees had withdrawn its ban against Ranveer. This decision was apparently taken as Ranveer had sent them a legal notice. However, now, the Federation President BN Tripathi has debunked the rumors. He has stated that the Federation was not forced to take this step at gunpoint.
A dispute that seems hard to resolve
Ranveer Singh's exit from Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 continues to be in news. On May 25th, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees had imposed a ban on the actor. The decision to lift the ban came out in the open on Wednesday. The President of the federation, BN Tiwari has now issued a statement.
'We believe that the industry is like a family. There is no animosity with anyone. Whenever there is any non-payment issue, or anyone comes up with any complaint, we issue a non-cooperation notice against the concerned party. After the resolution, we remove the notice. We do not see it as a defeat'
'I have received notice from Ranveer.'
The President added that Ranveer had sent in a notice to the federation where it stated that they should remove the boycott within 48 hours. However, he stated that they had already withdrawn the notice before any such notice came their way.
'It is not their defeat but it is their win.'
He further elaborated by saying that, 'It is important for us to highlight that we are not withdrawing this notice at gunpoint. We received letters from the producers guild and the Motion picture producers association on May 29 which was received on May 30, that is why we decided to withdraw the notice'. He said, 'If they think it is their win then it is also their win. It is not our defeat, it is their victory'.
The controversy
The Don 3 controversy between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar has been taking place since April. Farhan Akhtar had claimed that the teaser of Don 3 was shot, hotels had been booked and the crew was ready. This has caused Ranveer's exit to incur a loss of 45 crore. On the other hand, it was said that Ranveer opted out as the dates and script was not concrete, or he chose to opt out once the film was a blockbuster.
