Suspense crime, Digital Desk : In a surprising and perhaps poignant gesture amidst significant family turmoil, Tej Pratap Yadav on Tuesday extended heartfelt congratulations to his younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav, on becoming a father for the second time. This olive branch, offered via a tweet, comes just two days after Tej Pratap was dramatically expelled from their political party, the RJD, and effectively from the close-knit Yadav family.
"With the infinite grace and blessings of Shri Banke Bihari Ji, I have got the good fortune of becoming the elder father (Taya ji) on the arrival of the newborn baby (the birth of a son)," Tej Pratap tweeted. He continued, "Hearty congratulations and best wishes to younger brother Tejaswi Prasad Yadav and Raj Shri Yadav... My affectionate blessings and love to the nephew..."
This joyous occasion for Tejashwi, who serves as the RJD's chairman, and his wife Rajshree, as they welcomed a baby boy this morning (they already have a two-year-old daughter, Katyayani), is set against a backdrop of serious family drama. Just days ago, the RJD patriarch and their father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, took the drastic step of expelling his elder son, Tej Pratap, from the party for six years. The decision reportedly also included severing personal ties, citing Tej Pratap's "irresponsible conduct" and what Lalu termed a deviation from the family's cherished values and public decorum.
The catalyst for this severe action was a controversial social media post that appeared on Tej Pratap's X (formerly Twitter) account a day before his expulsion. The post allegedly detailed a 12-year relationship with a woman named Anushka Yadav. Tej Pratap, who is currently embroiled in a bitter divorce battle with his estranged wife Aishwarya Roy, quickly claimed his account had been hacked and the post was deleted. However, the damage, it seems, was already done, leading to his ousting from the party and family fold.
Tej Pratap's congratulatory message now adds another layer to this complex family saga, leaving many to wonder if it's a step towards reconciliation or simply a brother's natural instinct to share in a moment of family joy, despite the deep rifts.
