Amidst the Maharashtra assembly elections, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said about Sharad Pawar that everything is fair in war and politics. Gadkari said in an interview that Sharad Pawar had also done the same in his time. He rejected the allegations that the BJP does politics of dividing other parties. He said, “Everything is fair in love and politics. Sometimes it proves to be effective for the people, and sometimes there are reactions.”
Nitin Gadkari was asked that people have a perception about the differences with Sharad Pawar and this caused loss to Mahayuti in the Lok Sabha elections. In response to this, he said that Sharad Pawar is a very respected leader in Maharashtra. But at one time, he had taken such steps which affected every party.
NCP broke all parties
“Sharad Pawar broke all parties while he was the chief minister. He broke the Shiv Sena and threw out Chhagan Bhujbal and other leaders. But this is quite common in politics. Whether it is right or wrong is a different matter. There is a saying – everything is fair in love and politics,” Gadkari said.
Ajit Pawar broke the NCP
In the last assembly elections in Maharashtra, the NDA alliance got a majority, but there was a rift between Shiv Sena and BJP. In such a situation, Shiv Sena formed the government with NCP and Congress. This government lasted for a few days, but later both Shiv Sena and NCP parties split. Eknath Shinde formed the government with the support of BJP with most of the Shiv Sena MLAs. Here Ajit Pawar also joined this alliance with most of the NCP MLAs and he was also made the Deputy CM.
Most of the Shiv Sena MLAs were with Shinde and most of the NCP MLAs were with Ajit Pawar. In such a situation, the Election Commission declared the Shinde faction as the real Shiv Sena and the Ajit faction as the real NCP. Shinde betrayed Uddhav Thackeray, but Ajit broke the party formed by his uncle. After this, he was heavily criticized. However, now Gadkari has said that everything is fair in politics.
