The effect of the boom in the stock market has started showing in the last five sessions. In the last five days, the wealth of equity investors has increased by Rs 15.18 lakh crore. In the last five trading days, the BSE barometer has jumped 2,722.12 points or 3.44 percent. According to PTI news, the market capitalization of companies listed on BSE has increased by Rs 15,18,926.69 crore to Rs 4,58,17,010.11 crore (US $ 5.41 trillion) in the last five sessions.
How was the market on Thursday?
Rising for the fifth consecutive day on Thursday, the 30-share benchmark Sensex jumped 809.53 points, or 1percentt, to close at 81,765. The NSE Nifty gained 240.95 points, or 0.98 percent, to close at 24,708.40 on Thursday. Bank Nifty also rose 0.63 percent IT stocks gained 1.95 percent Prashant Tapase, Senior Vice President (Research), Mehta Equities Ltd. Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Titan, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra an,d HCL Technologies were the top gainers in the 30-share pack.
2,141 stocks gained on BSE
NTPC, Asian Paints, nd IndusInd Bank were among the laggards. 2,141 stocks advanced w,825 declined and 117 remained unchanged on the BSE. Siddhartha Khemka, Head – Research, Wealth Management, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd said Indian stock markets rallied strongly during the day on the back of strong buying in heavyweight stocks across sectors and positive market sentiment.
FIIs invest ₹5,000 crore in two sessions.
The rally was also fuelled by foreign institutional investors (FIIs), who pumped in over Rs 5,000 crore in the past two sessions. Among sectoral indices, BSE Focused IT gained the most by 1.96pe1.96 percent owned by Tech at 1.9 percent, IT at 11.8 percent, and Telecom by0.9 percent. Bankex (0.68 percent and Consumer Durables (0.66 percent) also gained. BSE Services and Realty declined.
