Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Acclaimed actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh made an unforgettable entrance at the Met Gala 2025, stepping out onto the red carpet wearing an ivory sherwani-style suit and a accompanying turban. With this outfit, he honored Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, displaying his Punjabi roots boldly on the global stage.
A recap of his journey to this event can be found on his YouTube channel, where he posted a 13-minute long video titled “Diljit Dosanjh at Met Gala 2025.” It shows him as he prepares for the event, reveals his outfit, and captures some of the unfiltered experiences at the gala.
Prabal Gurung Designs That Honor Punjabi Culture
Diljit’s attire is a product of collaboration between him and Nepalese-American designer Prabal Gurung. As to be expected, Dosanjh was extremely excited as soon as he caught a glimpse of the design, especially because the Punjabi alphabet stitched on the back of his turban was a special touch.
More elaborative accessories are worn to emphasize the Maharaja jewelry-inspired look even more.
A Sneak Peek at the Performance
The light-hearted outros of the vlog include a wardrobe blunder of pop singer Shakira which receives added attention as a result of Diljit’s comments about the sit Shakira encountered on her way into the performance due to a broken zipper. His words: “Shakira ki emergency ki wajah se sada kaam suffer hogaya. But it is okay.... Hips don’t lie and she does not lie.”
Shakira said that she was anticipating a joint appearance with Shakira, whom he had intended to meet until the outfit debacle caused him to miss his red carpet slot.
Self-assured and Nationalistic Pride
Addressing Diljit’s excitement for meeting anyone at the Met Gala mentioned, humorously shared, “Don’t take me wrong but I am very happy that I will be the centerpiece for everybody’s attention.”
In addition to showing respect for an Indian actor who he appreciates because they share the globe but maintained their roots and cultural background, Dosanjh stressed that he was at the gala to represent the Punjabi community: ‘I am trying to bring Punjab to the Met Gala red carpet.’
