London. Famous singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh topped the British list of ‘World’s Top 50 Asian Celebrities of 2024’ displayed in London on Wednesday. Last year, actor Shahrukh Khan topped this list. Punjabi singer and actor Dosanjh topped the 2024 edition of the list published by Britain’s weekly newspaper ‘Eastern Eye’, beating international talents from the world of cinema, television, music, art and literature. Dosanjh has sung many successful songs for films and his popularity has increased through major national and international music festivals. ‘Eastern Eye’ Editor (Entertainment) Asjad Nazir said, “The highly successful ‘Dil-Luminati’ program of this superstar of the field of singing is the most successful ‘tour’ in the world by any South Asian celebrity in history.

He said, “His historic performance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ broke new ground for Indian music. Along with spreading the magic of music, this versatile star has also shown his acting ability in films and proudly promoted his Punjabi culture. Everyone is talking about him and it turned out to be a dream year for him.” Indian-origin pop superstar Charlie XCX was in second place. Actor Allu Arjun was at third place in the list, who broke box-office records with the most successful Indian film of the year ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ and changed the landscape of cinema in his country.
Dev Patel was also left behind
Actor and filmmaker Dev Patel was ranked fourth, having cemented his place as a Hollywood powerhouse by writing, directing, producing and acting in the hit film ‘Monkey Man’. Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas was ranked fifth, Tamil actor Vijay was sixth and singer Abhijeet Singh was ranked seventh. Australian actress Geraldine Viswanathan, Pakistani actress Hania Aamir and British actress Simone Ashley were also among this year’s top 10 celebrities. The oldest actor in the list is 82-year-old Amitabh Bachchan (26th) and the youngest is 17-year-old actress Nitanshi Goyal (42nd), who has been included in the list for her impressive performance in India’s official Oscar entry ‘Missing Ladies’.
