Assembly elections are going to be held in Delhi. Before this, the Delhi government is continuously trying to woo voters. Meanwhile, the Mahila Samman Yojana passed by the Delhi Cabinet has been notified. Women above 18 years of age will get the benefit of this scheme. But working and retired employees of Delhi government or central government will not get its benefit. Also, women who pay income tax will also not get the benefit of this scheme. Former and present MLAs, MPs and councilors will also not get the benefit of this scheme.
Who will get the benefit of Mahila Samman Yojana?
Let us tell you that women taking old age and disability pension will also not get Mahila Samman amount. Those taking benefit of this scheme must be voters of Delhi on 12 December 2024. Along with this, women of the family whose annual income is more than 3 lakhs will also not get the benefit of this scheme. If income tax or GST is filed by any woman or her family members, then the women of such family have also been deprived of this benefit.
Delhi government will have an additional burden of Rs 4560 crore
Apart from this, women above 60 years of age who get old age pension have also been excluded from this scheme. The benefit of this scheme will be given to those who have been living in Delhi for the last 5 years. Let us tell you that about 37 lakh women of Delhi will get the benefit of Mahila Samman Yojana. Due to this scheme, there will be an additional burden of 4560 crores on the Delhi government every year. The Planning and Finance Department of the Delhi Government had opposed this scheme of the government. Both the departments had said that the expenditure of the Delhi Government is more than its income. The government will meet this shortfall by taking a loan from NSSF. In such a situation, a new scheme of 4560 crores per year should not be implemented.
