Following the death of the woman, the Congress party has claimed that she was a party worker and they have asked for a high level inquire into the murder. The body of the 22 year old woman, Narwal Himani, affiliated with the congress party, was found stuffed in a suitcase was found in a suitcase in Haryana's Rohtak.

The Congress has also sought explenations regarding the death of Narwal, who was part of the party's MP Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra.

The blue suitcase was discovered on Friday near Samarla bus stand and officers from the nearby police station were informed about the case, as reported by ANI news agengy.

The police were informed regarding the issue and the police along with forensics team reached the site were it was discovered that Narwal's body was stuffed inside the suitcase.

According to the police, Narwal's mehndi clad hands had a scarf tied around her neck.

On social media, Narwal would often upload pictures of herself posing with members of the party that included former Cheif Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, MP Deepender Singh Hooda and MLA BB Batra.

A political ruckus broke out after Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra claimed the murdered individual was a Congress worker who had attended Bharat Jodo Yatra alongwith Rahul Gandhi. Batra told that Narwal was quite active along with Bhupinder Hooda and Deepinder Hooda during the election campaigns.

Hooda, who is the president of Congress Haryana, has vehemently condemned the incident saying it is a “blot on the law and order of the state”. He has also called for a “high level” and “impartial” investigation of the incident.

“The news of the barbaric murder of the Congress worker Himani Narwal in Rohtak is very sad and shocking,” he wrote in X. “I pay my tribute to the departed soul, and express my deepest condolences to her family. This in itself is a blot on the law and order situation of the state,” he wrote in Hindi.

Hooda said, “Government should form a high-level impartial investigation of this murder, and should provide justice to the victim’s family as soon as possible and provide the severe punishment to the culprits.”
