In a deal or no deal proposition from Trump’s side, the president is set on launching strategic strikes over Iran’s nuclear sites if the deal isn’t signed. As reports from AP say, Iran's representatives have repetitively stated that there's a strong chance they'll cross the nuclear line with their stockpile of uranium that has been refined to almost weapon-grade.
At the same time, the Iranian foreign ministry is showing footage of Iran’s international Relations minister, Abbas Araghchi, alongside Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi. AP reports that Iran’s state owned news channel IRNA stated Araghchi gave his position desiring to submit Iran's stance and key points for the discussions to be made to the masterminds on the other side meaning U.S. Thus, this meeting is assumed to take place on Saturday.
As reported by the AP, Witkoff's convoy was allegedly spotted leaving the Omani Foreign Ministry on Saturday afternoon and later claims they accelerated towards the suburbs of Muscat.
The Foreign Ministry of Iran Esmail Baghaei posted on X that indirect dialogue has commenced.
“They will be conducted at a venue designated by the Omani host, where the representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States will be placed in the meddling chairs, and through the Omani Foreign Minister, will voice to one another,” Baghaei noted.
“Iranians were taken for fools,' and, later hearing comments he made on state TV, grabbed hold of my words and reframed it. Yes, that's what he meant - he reframed it,” accompanied captioned with one of the screenshots, and later retouched as broadcast out of context.
“He said: The Islamic Republic of Iran’s aim is obvious – there is only one objective: to protect and defend the national interests of Iran.”
"In addition, Baghaei shared his opinion regarding the most recent negotiations: The most important development is that both parties have outlined their starting hypotheses, depicting a more favorable dynamic with the Omani mediator. So, I want to underline that negotiations are not anticipated to last long."
“Remember, we are talking about diplomacy in a true sense, where through conversation, at least part of the problems, with the most challenging one being the nuclear dilemma, and more crucially in our perspective, the sanctions removal.”
