
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a law and order review meeting on Sunday, urging officials to ensure peaceful celebrations of upcoming festivals across the state. He emphasized maintaining tradition and taking a zero-tolerance approach against disruptive elements.
CM Yogi’s Key Directives for Upcoming Festivals
During the meeting, CM Yogi issued the following guidelines:
- All festivals in Uttar Pradesh must be celebrated peacefully and in accordance with cultural traditions.
- A three-day ‘District Development Festival (Janpadiya Vikas Utsav)’ will be organized in all districts to mark eight years of the UP government.
- Verification of tempo, e-rickshaw drivers, and tenants must be conducted.
- Ensure no overloading of vehicles, especially near zero points.
- Transport department officials must be included in district-level task forces.
- Increase police foot patrolling and ensure PRV 112 units remain active.
- During Chaitra Navratri, ensure basic facilities like water, sanitation, mats, and shamianas for devotees.
- Deploy women police personnel at major religious places.
- Maintain strict surveillance in border areas.
- Resolve revenue disputes swiftly and based on merit.
- Monitor social media activity closely and respond to any misuse.
Festivals Covered Under Security Measures
The directives were given ahead of major upcoming festivals, including:
- Chaitra Navratri
- Ram Navami
- Eid-ul-Fitr
- Baisakhi
Officials have been instructed to remain vigilant, especially during processions and fairs. CM Yogi warned against the spread of anarchy or misinformation, urging strict action under a zero-tolerance policy for any provocative or mischievous statements.
“This is a sensitive time. We must be continuously alert and respond swiftly to any threats to law and order,” the CM emphasized.
