According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, officials from China are now telling top AI entrepreneurs and researchers to refrain from traveling to the US. This is heightening internal concern, comparted to the regulation by th newly informed leaders of China on October,2023.

The unauthorized travel probe is motivated by fears that experts from China AI traveling could leak their national secrets on the nation’s achievements, the journal stated.

The authorities have also expressed concerns that some executives might get captured and used as pawns in the US and China dealings, as was the case when Huawei’s executive was abducted with great difficulty while Canada was accommodating the US request in the first term of Trump’s presidency.

Such cases could lead to a drastic shift in the government using both China and US as their professors. Neither the White House nor China’s State Council Information Office responded quickly to inquiries made by Reuters.

Further, such paragraphs serve as obstacles to the core of crucial focused in China regarding AI and US. The journal stated that other sensitive industries like robotics and other highly china sensitive professions would polarize the prevention of Chinese workers coming to China.

Policing in both these regions would only be completely relieved with the choice of traveling posing somewhat new policies. These new policies entail warning the authorities before leaving and briefing them on discussions, meetings and other actions taken in US region.

According to the report, Liang Wenfeng, the founder of Chinese AI startup DeepSeek, turned down an invitation to an AI summit in Paris in February. The Journal claimed that the founder of another major Chinese AI startup canceled a planned trip to the US last year on Beijing's orders.

DeepSeek, which has recently launched AI models it claims to compete with and even exceed those of OpenAI and Google, has done so at a fraction of the cost. There is a global AI competition between the US and China, and DeepSeek is now a player in it.

In February, a fairly extraordinary meeting was held at the top of the Chinese Communist Party with some of China’s tech sector giants as Xi Jinping told them to ‘demonstrate their skills’ and believe in the potential of China’s model and market.
