Koriya News: BJP leader burnt alive in Fortuner, died after locking up doors

Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : BJP leader Bharat Singh Gaharwar was burnt to death after setting his Fortuner car on fire in Koriya district's Katgodi village. Reports say the accused had tied his Fortuner.

The Fortuner set on fire in Katgodi village of Sonhat, Korea district of Chhattisgarh, in which BJP leader Bharat Singh Gaharwar, aka Lalla Singh, burned alive, while three people were critically injured and are undergoing treatment at Ambikapur Medical College.

The accused first trapped them by blocking their car doors and then burned them.

Sources claim the accused blocked the doors of the Fortuner by hitting it with a tipper truck and then set it ablaze with petrol. Police have arrested four accused. Search is on for the other thirty. BJP leader Bharat Singh Gaharwar, aka Lalla Singh, a passenger in the Fortuner, sustained burns to his death.

The crime took place around 11 PM on Tuesday (June 16th). BJP leader Bharat Singh Gaharwar was on the way with his friends in two vehicles near the village of Navgai, at which time about 30 accused persons first blocked his Fortuner's doors and then the remaining people threw petrol on the car and set fire. Sources said that those who attempted to break the car windows from inside were also assaulted.

Following the incident, the Inspector General, Surguja Range, arrived in Korea. A total of four accused has been arrested in this cruel murder in a few hours, while efforts are being made to arrest the other 30. Of those who had 40 to 60 percent burn wounds and were first sent to the nearest Baikunthpur district hospital, then to Ambikapur, doctors there are now tending to them. The forensic team, which reached the incident site from Ambikapur, is investigating with the police.

Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that the police were investigating the whole matter and those who committed this heinous murder would be severely punished. Answering questions from the Congress, he said that the opposition party was leveling baseless charges.
