Bike accident, borrowed money… elderly man found strangled in the middle of the road in Dhamtari; the full story of the murder
A sensational incident has occurred in Chhattisgarh's Dhamtari district. A minor dispute at Mahavir Chowk in the Bhakhara police station area escalated into a horrific incident when friends stabbed one of their friend's elderly grandfather to death. Police arrested one of the accused within 24 hours, while the search for the others is ongoing.
Mahavir Chowk was bustling with people as usual. Meanwhile, three young men arrived on a bike and surrounded the elderly man, Annu Nirmalkar. It is being reported that there was already a financial dispute between these young men and the deceased's family. An argument ensued, which quickly escalated into a violent altercation.
Elderly man's throat slit in the middle of the road
According to eyewitnesses, the dispute escalated to the point where the accused, Shivam Sahu, stabbed Annu Nirmalkar in the neck with a sharp knife. The injury was so severe that an attempt was made to immediately rush him to the hospital, but he died on the way. This brutal murder has shocked the local community.
Police investigations have revealed that the root of this entire dispute was a bike accident. Sahil Nirmalkar, the deceased's grandson, borrowed the accused Chikku Diwan's bike and took it, which later crashed. Repairs to the bike cost approximately 24,000 rupees. Sahil initially paid 5,000 rupees, but the accused continued to pressure him for the remaining 19,000 rupees.
Dispute over demand for money
Amid this tension, Annu Nirmalkar was sitting at Mahavir Chowk on Wednesday when the accused arrived and began arguing over the money. The situation escalated to the point where they committed murder.
Considering the seriousness of the case, Bhakhara police acted swiftly and arrested one of the accused, Chiranjeevi Diwan, and sent him to jail. Meanwhile, the main accused, Shivam Sahu and Rahul Kawar, are still absconding and police are conducting raids to search for them.
