New Delhi: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has resigned from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). He posted on social media handle X and said, ‘Today I resigned from the primary membership and all the posts of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Our struggle will continue for the issues of tribals, natives, Dalits, backward and common people of Jharkhand.’

Recently, while talking to journalists, Champai Soren said that he had decided to join the Bharatiya Janata Party after a lot of thought. This is the right decision taken in the interest of Jharkhand.
On the night of August 26, he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi along with Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand BJP election co-in-charge Himanta Biswa Sarma. In this, an agreement was reached on his joining the BJP. After this, on August 27, he also met the Union Agriculture Minister and Jharkhand BJP in-charge Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
Earlier, Champai Soren had written a post on social media on August 18 saying that he was insulted in JMM. He is hurt by the way he was asked to resign from the post of Chief Minister. Champai Soren will formally join the BJP in a big program to be held in Ranchi on August 30. His son Babulal Soren will also take membership of the party in this program.
