Persistent Systems reported a stellar 13.7% year-on-year surge in consolidated net profit, reaching ₹483 crore compared to ₹425 crore recorded during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. Although profit numbers experienced a minor sequential dip of roughly 8.7% quarter-on-quarter due to foreign exchange losses, the underlying operational metrics remained exceptionally solid. The company’s revenue from operations soared by an impressive 29.1% year-on-year to touch ₹4,303.23 crore, marking a healthy 6.1% increase over the preceding quarter and demonstrating uninterrupted upward momentum in technology service delivery.
Historic Order Book and Mega Deal Wins
The standout highlight of the June quarter was the company's record-breaking order book. Persistent Systems secured its highest-ever quarterly Total Contract Value (TCV) of $1.15 billion, accompanied by an Annualized Contract Value (ACV) of $536.8 million. This massive influx of capital was driven primarily by long-term strategic contracts from marquee global clients, including a massive 6.5-year strategic services agreement valued at over $650 million with a leading global technology giant, laying down a formidable bedrock for future revenue visibility.
Workforce Expansion and Strategic Acquisition of Nagarro
Reflecting high business confidence, Persistent Systems expanded its workforce aggressively during the quarter, adding 1,138 new employees to bring its total headcount to 28,640. Demonstrating improved workplace retention, the company’s attrition rate dropped further to 12.3% from 13% in the previous quarter. On the corporate development front, Persistent made a major strategic acquisition by signing a business combination agreement with German digital engineering firm Nagarro, a move expected to supercharge its global market reach and technological prowess.
