Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Two bouncers at the renowned Banke Bihari Temple in Mathura have been arrested for allegedly running a scam that preyed on the faith of worshippers. The men are accused of duping devotees by taking money from them under the false promise of providing "VIP darshan," an expedited, crowd-free viewing of the temple's deity.
The fraudulent scheme came to light after a devotee from Delhi, identified as Praveen, filed a complaint with the police. Praveen reported that he and his family were approached by the bouncers, Mohit Yadav and Monu Sharma, who offered them a shortcut past the massive temple crowds for a fee of Rs. 500 per person.
After the family paid the amount, the bouncers allegedly took the money and disappeared into the throng, leaving the devotees cheated and without the promised special access.
Acting on the complaint, officers from the Vrindavan Kotwali police station launched an investigation. By reviewing CCTV footage from the temple premises, they were able to identify and track down the two accused bouncers. Both Mohit Yadav and Monu Sharma were subsequently arrested.
The Banke Bihari Temple is a major pilgrimage site that attracts enormous crowds daily, creating an environment where such scams can occur. Police have issued a warning to all pilgrims to be cautious of individuals offering special access or services in exchange for cash and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
