BJP’s High Command is preparing for a comprehensive inner party reshuffle prior to publicizing the new national president, which has, rather suspiciously, been on hold for more than six months. JP Nadda, the current head of the party, continues in his position despite ostensibly completing his term with the 2024 Lok Sabha elections because he has chosen to prorogue the elections within the party.
The internal rules of BJP stipulates the prerequisite condition mandating at least 19 state presidents be elected within the party for party leadership positions to commence. It does seem that party hierarchy is done for 15 states with 6 more on the roster to complete the set shortly.
Ongoing Talks Regarding Strategy At The Top Are Underway
A strategy planning meeting was conducted on Tuesday with Amit Shah, Union Home minister, and Rajnath Singh, the Minister of Defence, both of whom are part of the BJP’s uppermost echelons. Nadda reiterated the next steps of these strategies along with changes to be implemented in the organization structure and the order of onset of the national presidential polls.
The previously mentioned preparatory discussion of the BJP was also associated with pm Modi and further parties which comprise Shah, Rajnath Singh, Bl Santhosh (BJP general secretary, organization). These sessions serve as a testament to the importance placed on the reorganization of the political holarchy within the party.Emerging Nomination And Election Timeline
We expect the nominations for new BJP President to commence no later than next week, with the election set for late April to early May; however, an announcement will be made once the benchmark of 19 states are met.
The new appointments for State BJP Presidents are still pending for UP, MP, GP, Punjab, AP, Karnataka and Odisha which form the pillars necessary for the BJP’s electoral calculations and organizational architecture.
Political Drifts And Speculative Moves
Undisclosed reasons for appointment of a new party chief have sparked many raucous speculations. The recent postponed visit of PM Modi to Jammu and Kashmir and the new recently with Murmu has further added to the mystery of the BJP’s internal workings.
Although rest of the party council member’s spokespersons Kvach said this is business as bas, character formation of new party movements seems to be a strategy of the powers coming into changes of control.
Amit Shah Defended Delay Without Member Scale
Defenders of the delay of process election by Home Minister Amit Shah said this is due to excess member constituency of the party as, which makes the processes slower. “With 12-13 crore members of a party, choosing a leader becomes quite time extensive” as stated by the he to Parliament and reiterated during an summit,”.
