In India, everyone has the right to vote, but you can only cast your ballot if you’re on the voter list. As the Bihar assembly elections get closer, the Election Commission is running a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. This is the first full review in nearly 20 years. The goal is clear: make sure only real citizens can vote by removing fake or duplicate entries.
After the Supreme Court told them to do so on August 14, the Election Commission has shared a list of names that were taken off the draft list during the SIR. You can now view this information on the official Election Commission website.
Want to see if your name is on the Bihar voter list? You have a few easy options.
Check by EPIC Number:
Go to voters.eci.gov.in or electoralsearch.eci.gov.in. Type in your EPIC (Elector Photo Identity Card) number plus the security code. Hit “Search” to see your voter details, if your name is on the list.
