Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Bhool Chuk Maaf's legal issues have since been cleared and it has finally released in theaters, starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi. On the opening day, the film earned a decent ₹6.75 crore net as reported by Sacnilk, and recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 19.36% on Day 1. The movie was directed by Karan Sharma.

Competitive Box Office: Bhool Chuk Maaf vs Kesari Veer

Its romantic-comedy counterpart was faced with box office competition from Kesari Veer, starring Sooraj Pancholi and Suniel Shetty. However, Kesari Veer managed only ₹0.25 crore on Day 1 along with a much lower 6.62% occupancy.

A Legal Battle Postponed Commercial Plans

The release date was initially set for a May 9th theatrical release, but this was changed to an Amazon Prime Video premeire. This resulted in a dispute with PVR INOX and OtT platform. A court ruling prevented the OTT release allowing the filmmakers to change the planned release to a theatrical one.

According to reports, the film will be available on optical disc out of print days after the 2 week window ends in theaters.

Plot Summary: Love, Oaths, and Redemption in One Blend

The new movie produced by Maddock Films, Amazon, MGM Studios, and PVR INOX features Banaras' government employee Ranjan, portrayed by Rajkummar Rao. Things take a turn when he tries to marry Titli (Wamiqa Gabbi) and forgets a vow to Lord Shiva; this leads to his entrapment until he finds a way to redeem himself. The plot is infused with smile-inducing and emotional roller-coasters against a small-town setting.
